Walker Carroll
Walker Carroll is a sixteen-year-old competitive cyclist from Texas who rose through the National Interscholastic Cycling Association ranks, winning a state championship in the JV1 category as a freshman and placing second in the Texas road state championship. He had joined a developmental team competing nationally and was on what he describes as a comfortable path toward racing professionally. On February 6, 2026, a hit-and-run driver struck him from behind at more than seventy miles an hour during a training ride, leaving him with a traumatic brain injury and a long list of additional fractures. Walker is now working through intensive neuroplasticity-based rehabilitation and regenerative therapy, and speaks openly about how faith has shaped his recovery and his choice to forgive the driver who hit him.
